Job Description

Voltari, the world leader in electric performance, is seeking a Controller to join our dynamic and growing team. The company is passionate about being the leader in the emerging marine EV space and seeks a Controller to join the team at corporate headquarters in Merrickville, supporting this location as well as our Montreal and Florida teams. This role will oversee finances, office operations, and support the team to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Job Summary:



The ideal candidate for this role is proactive, hands-on, and a strategic thinker with financial acumen and interpersonal skills. The candidate will manage the company's accounting and financial functions, oversee office administration, and support human resources. As the company grows, the candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing policies and procedures to optimize financial and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:



Manage the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Prepare and publish financial statements. Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis. Manufacturing accounting: Understand the production cycle from raw materials to finished goods, including tracking and analyzing direct and indirect costs associated with production. This includes materials, labour, and overhead costs. Implement and maintain internal controls. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax filings. Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors. Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Office Management:



Manage day-to-day office operations, ensuring a well-organized and efficient workspace. Oversee the procurement of office supplies and equipment Manage vendor relationships.

Human Resources:



Manage HR administrative tasks, including onboarding new employees, maintaining employee files, and administering benefits. Support hiring processes, including candidate screening and background checks. Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures. Address employee concerns and promote a positive work environment.

Qualifications:



CMA, Or CPA designation. Fluently bilingual and familiar with both Quebec provincial and Canadian Federal filings. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in a small to medium-sized business environment. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage). Experience with HR tasks, including benefits administration and basic HR compliance. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Bonus Points:



Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, MBA in Finance. Experience with manufacturing accounting
