Role Responsibilities
Develop and maintain sales to contractor and commercial accounts
Be familiar with and maintain up-to-date information on pricing
Communicate product knowledge to the customer as appropriate
Develop and maintain sales call reference files and prospect lists
Help customers solve building problems
Develop positive working relationships with local building suppliers and contractors
Be familiar with current yard inventory and surplus items
Maintain professional confidentiality of all store and customer records
Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management
Must be able to work cooperatively as a team
Ability to multi-task is necessary
Willingness to learn and grow
Helpful and friendly attitude toward all customers
Role Technical Qualifications
Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret blueprints is an asset
Knowledge of construction and building materials is an asset
Must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with fellow employees, management, suppliers, customers and prospective customers to obtain accurate information for bids, pricing estimates, quotations, etc.
Ability to operate equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks efficiently and safely, including computer, vehicle(s), fax, etc.
Ability to multi-task is necessary
