Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking Contracts Managers and Administrators to join their SCM Conventional Energy team in Calgary. Some of the available positions include site assigments for projects being executed in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

The Contracts Managers and Administrators are responsible for the bidding, evaluation, execution and post award administration of subcontracts, related to site contruction work, site support services and home office technical and engineering subcontracts.

The candidate must have proven understanding of contracting principles, project subcontracting strategies, development of subcontracting plans, procedures and terms and conditions.

Candidate must have proven experience with post awared management and control of subcontracts, co-ordination of interface activities with other project team members in accordance with applicable company and project requirements, systems, procedures, budgetsand schedules. Being trained and qualified to execute quantity surveying duties is considered advantageous.

The canditate work experince must include the ability manage and control field construction subcontracts, including home office liaison and interface with the client's organisation.

Contracts Managers and Administrators must deliver clear and concise reports on progress of all activities for which they are responsible. Ensures direct reports regularly update reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting and escalates any critical issues and risks to project management.

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:
Educated to ISCED Level 6 (Bachelor Degree or Equivalent), CIPS, PMAC qualified or industry equivalent is considered beneficial.

On the job demonstrated experience will be considered.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years of contracts experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Subcontractors, commercial evaluations, negotiations and terms and
conditions of contract. * In depth knowledge of commercial flowdowns imposed by Head Contracts.
  • Post-award management of field and home office, subcontracts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Industry forms of Subcontract.
  • Computer systems.
  • Proficiency with Supply Chain Principles and techniques.
