What you will do in the role

Plan and develop programs that will adequately meet the needs of Indigenous children, youth and families that effectively supports protection/prevention services from a holistic approach. Integrate Indigenous and mainstream approaches to care that appropriately and adequately meets the needs of Indigenous children, families, and community in a culturally sensitive sensibility manner. Providing expertise, leadership, facilitation and guidance in the design and implementation of programs. Creative and resourceful approaches to program development and service delivery that are centric to an Indigenous worldview. Conducts best practice approaches centric to Indigenous philosophies, worldviews and evidence-based approaches in a respectful and meaningful framework. Design survey instruments to use in program evaluations. Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating programs and processes of programs with the use of evaluation methods such as survey instruments or assessments. Develops and maintains data collection and evaluation documentation outlining goals, outcomes and ongoing progress. Collaboratively work with protection/prevention staff to plan and effectively apply program evaluation. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability by reframing approaches as needed. Establish relationships with peers, external service providers, and youth to determine the types of programs, services, and new partnerships required. Evaluate various programs and strategies available throughout Canada to implement or adapt internally. Organize and run high-quality weekly programming which includes cultural activities, entrepreneurship/social enterprise workshops and activities, life skills and employment readiness, or other identified activities activities/workshops. Provide client care/programming at a time that is best for the client (includes evening and occasional weekend programming). Other duties as required.

What you bring to the table

Social Services diploma is an asset. Experience working with First Nations. 2 years of experience in Program Development. Proven ability to apply trauma-informed, anti-colonial, anti-oppressive and intersectional approaches to planning and evaluation processes. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and independently. Must produce clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening Must possess a valid "G" Ontario driver`s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle. Must have a $2M auto insurance liability coverage. Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered major asset.
