Your Impact:

We are looking for a Contract Administrator for the construction of a contaminated mine water treatment plant near the Town of Faro, Yukon, Canada. The Permanent Water Treatment Plant (PWTP) is a key part of the Faro Mine Remediation Project that is run by the Government of Canada. Jacobs has designed the PWTP for the Government of Canada and will serve as the Engineer of Record during construction. Any construction direction to the General Contractor must be through the Main Construction Manager (MCM). Jacobs primary role consists of field reviews, quality assurance, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, communicating with on-site stakeholders (contractor, MCM, Canada), and keeping the EoR\xe2\x80\x99s informed.

The expectation is that work will start in March 2024 with design team discussions and project documentation familiarization and will continue to October 2024 when the construction season ends. This role has the option of extending into future construction seasons. Construction will continue until the end of 2026, with commissioning planned for 2027. The contract administrator can work remotely but being based in Whitehorse is an asset if occasional trips to the site are required.

Primary responsibilities:

Report and work closely with the Jacobs\xe2\x80\x99 field team to manage documentation and ensure timely upload and responses.
Lead and manage documentation control of RFIs, submittals, schedules, expenses, and staffing schedules. Coordinate and work closely with the field team and Project Management team for the necessary information and approvals.
Manage the team SharePoint site and ensure folder structures/document control is up to date and concise.
Work with the on-site team to upload and correctly document field reviews, daily reports, photos, safety items, etc.
Maintain and manage documentation logs for RFIs, submittals, and other construction related documents.

Logistics of the Role:

Work remotely (ideally in Pacific or Mountain time zone to align to site hours) or relocate to Whitehorse to work in the Jacobs Whitehorse office. Preference may be given to individuals who are willing to relocate to this office. Open to discussing relocation support if required.
Hours worked would be within normal working hours. It is anticipated this effort would be on average 20 hours per week (50% of workload).

Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

  • Strong understanding and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Jacob\xe2\x80\x99s typical platforms (Bluebeam, SharePoint, ProjectWise, Teams).
  • Previous experience with common General Contractor platforms (e.g. Kahua, Procore) is a benefit, but not required.
The base salary range for this position is $57,200 to $75,075. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
