Continuous Improvement Consultant

ConnectionPoint is the shared service centre at the University of Saskatchewan. ConnectionPoint operates in a hybrid model, values employee creativity, and prioritizes customer experience and process improvement.

Primary Purpose: As an expert in continuous improvement of services and associated processes, the purpose of this position is to ensure the implementation and delivery of enhanced customer services and processes from ConnectionPoint to faculty and staff at the University of Saskatchewan.

Nature of Work: The Continuous Improvement Consultant is accountable for leading projects and activities that drive high performance and expand the administrative service capabilities of ConnectionPoint through continuous improvement of processes and technologies that support institutional priorities.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

  • Re-engineer, improve and automate processes and functions to streamline and enhance services delivered from ConnectionPoint.
  • Facilitate large groups of people incorporating a variety of tools and facilitation techniques to drive effective problem solving.
  • Incorporate feedback to assist in generating and compiling accurate reporting and relevant customer satisfaction metrics to inform service and process performance and identify opportunities for service and operational improvements.
  • Manage projects and monitor day-to-day efforts to implement process and technology improvements within ConnectionPoint.
  • Liaise with staff, management, and stakeholders to ensure implementation of necessary service and process improvements.
  • Deliver continuous process improvement training to applicable staff on services, processes and functions provided by ConnectionPoint; assist other university stakeholders in identifying opportunities to develop and provide training associated with the enhanced services, processes, and functions.
  • Interface with appropriate ConnectionPoint staff to ensure relevant process content is updated in knowledge base system to support efficient call management and responses to customer enquiries.
  • Contribute to the planning, establishing and execution of both team and ConnectionPoint strategies and priorities, operations and services and improved processes and technologies that enhance the customer experience.
  • Work effectively with other offices (FCO, SBAs, Colleges/Units).
  • Reduce risk by remaining current with and adhering to university policies, guidelines and processes, collective agreements, and relevant legislation.
Education:A relevant university degree along with an equivalent combination of education and related experience will be considered for this position. Completion of the Operational Excellence Certificate is an asset.

Experience:3-5 years in business analysis, facilitation, service, process improvement and redesign within a client-focused workplace.

Skills:
  • Possesses broad subject matter knowledge of multi-functional business areas (HR, Finance, and Information Technology) with innovative systems-thinking and problem-solving abilities, strong customer-service orientation, effective relationship-building capabilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Proficient with information systems, programs and applications (e.g. HRIS, Jira Service Management, Microsoft Office, Cornerstone, Banner).
