Accountabilities Assist with applicable process development and CI (Continuous Improvement) projects Design and build workstations, and types of equipment such as racks, tables, jigs, etc. Build and repair production resources, Such as storage, carts, bins, worktables, etc. Preparing and setting up floor layouts with respect to the plant and production requirements. Assist in sourcing equipment, tools, and material handling. Assist in production floor and facility improvements. Assist with plant improvement and maintenance Building and facility maintenance at specific occasions. Experience 2+ years' industry/manufacturing/Mechanical/Fenestration experience. 2+ years of experience working with heavy equipment, machines, power, and hand tools. 2+ years' proficiency with floor layout, process layout, and workstation design Proficiency in Microsoft office. Strong knowledge and experience with lean principles. Education Technical bachelors or Diploma from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution in Engineering/ Technology Capabilities The ability to read and evaluate technical drawings, floor layouts, technical documents, and specifications. Expert in carpentry, woodworking, and general handy projects. Expert in working with wood, metal, and composite materials. Experience in welding is an asset. Mechanical engineering and Fenestration industry experience is an asset. Experience with electronics is an asset The ability to assist in designing and building workstations, processes, process flow, and instructions Experience and knowledge with manufacturing industry principles, quality, lean, etc Proficient in Microsoft office tools Written/verbal communication Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Time management, and extensive organizational skills with the ability to multitask, research, and analysis. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, organize time, and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to perform independently or as a project team member. Proactive and able to absorb new information quickly. Solution-focused and comfortable working in an environment that demands robust deliverables. The ability to identify problems and execute appropriate solutions. Comfortable with high volume workload and able to "roll up your sleeves" and jump in. High comfort level working in a fast-paced team environment that is constantly changing Certifications Millwright or Journeyman is an asset.
