Black & McDonald\'s Marketing & Communications team is growing! The Content Marketing Specialist/Editor is part of the Corporate Marketing & Communications department, reporting directly to the Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications.

As a Content Marketing Specialist, he/she is responsible for developing high impact and versatile written content for use across a variety of print and digital mediums to support marketing, brand, lead generation and thought leadership efforts.

As an Editor, the role is responsible for reviewing and editing all major written marketing and corporate communications content developed by the department to ensure accuracy and the highest standards of excellence.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Write professional, impactful and SEO optimized content for blogs, case studies, whitepapers, social media posts, newsletters and websites that will increase organic search rankings, drive website traffic and social media engagement, and generate leads.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Specialist on SEO and SEM tools to conduct keyword research and analysis.
  • Develop content for email and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaigns including paid search and display ads across Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other social media and digital platforms.
  • Develop creative and marketing oriented copy including content for brochures, sell sheets, ads, and video storyboards.
  • Interview subject matter experts, employees and customers to develop compelling stories and testimonials to be used across all our communication channels.
  • Full ownership of B&M News production cycle including content sourcing, feature story writing, editing , and project management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (corporate departments, service lines and business development) to understand our audiences and their challenges, generate topics of interest, and produce content that supports the value of our services and differentiators at each stage of the marketing and sales funnel.
  • As Editor, proofread and edit all major content pieces produced by the department including B&M News and Shop Talk.
  • Ensure a consistent brand voice and manage the editorial publishing calendar for digital channels.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor\'s degree or advanced diploma in marketing communications, copywriting or journalism
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of related work experience in copywriting, editing and content development in a corporate environment
  • Strong experience in developing marketing and technical content for digital channels such as blogs, whitepapers, and case studies, and print collateral such as brochures, sell sheets, tradeshow booths.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects / facilities, in order to provide substantial employment by ensuring compliance with our client\'s mandates, the successful candidate will be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire.
  • Intermediate skills in SEO and SEM platforms and strategies
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Experience working with teams in large matrixed organization is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communications, listening and decision-making skills
  • Professional client service manner and ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Proficiency with project management skills and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and synthesize direction from many individuals
  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts in the context of various print and digital media.
