Miles has an exciting full time opportunity for a Marketing Professional at a leading NGO organization based in Richmond to start ASAP!

As a member of the Communications team, you will be responsible for creating and editing written content for our various informational channels, as well as contributing to overall direction of the Association as it relates to the external and internal communications strategies, member engagement and retention.

To be considered for this role you will be a creative professional who has previous experience in rewriting communication materials across a wide scope of formats.

Responsibilities will include:

• Write, fact-check, and edit articles for eNewsletter, quarterly online magazine
• Write clear, compelling ad copy for various platforms (print, online, television)
• Write pitch letters and press releases
• Collaborate with the media on various optometry-related projects
• Create engaging written and video content for social media
• Research audience preferences and discover current social media trends
• Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries
• Interview industry professionals and use multiple sources to research topics
• Optimize online content using SEO guidelines
• Generate new story ideas to better promote the organization
• Help with developing strategies for public outreach and education
• Collaborate with other communications professionals on marketing projects
• Draft speeches and arrange interviews for the organisations members and executives
• Other marketing / communications duties if required

• 5+ years in content creation, journalism and / or public relations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to high quality work
• Excellent writing ability
• Previous experience with events
