Job Description

12 month fixed term contract / full time (*secondment opportunity)

Location: Applicants must be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO's) is located. We are looking to hire for this position in the Americas time zone.

The successful candidate may be based in one of the following locations

: Brazil, US, Canada or Argentina.



We offer competitive NGO level salary and benefits, the specifics of which depend on location where the successful candidates will be based. We aim to share this information with candidates before reaching the offer stage.



In this role you will:



Contribute to the development and execution of Greenpeace's communications strategy, managing a global calendar and editorial system. Produce and distribute compelling content across Greenpeace International channels, curating multimedia to support global programmes. Lead communications efforts for ships, actions, and rapid response initiatives, aligning these with Greenpeace's mission and priorities. Engage with key audiences and promote content globally, strengthening the impact of campaigns through strategic stakeholder relationships. Ensure the continuous improvement of communications strategies by tracking and analyzing content performance and implementing lessons learned.

What we're looking for:

Significant experience

in PR, media-driven environments, or a similar field. A track record of success in

global social change campaigns

and

communications

.

In-depth knowledge of international media

and

social media

and the ability to leverage this for campaign impact. Proven experience leading or implementing

crisis and responsive communications

.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

with the ability to adapt to different cultures, languages, and customs. Experience working with

multicultural teams

and senior staff across borders. Exceptional

written and spoken English

, with the ability to create persuasive content for diverse audiences. Proficiency in a second language, preferably

Spanish or Portuguese.

The ability to work effectively under

tight deadlines

and across

time zones

, with a flexible mindset. A commitment to

equity, diversity, and inclusion

in your communication and team-building efforts. Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values. Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)
