Position Details



The Content Creator is focused to create compelling creative content for MEOW's social media, marketing and communication strategies and tactics. This is a hands-on role that:

1) Writes compelling creative content, narrates the ongoing story and evolution of MEOW, and promotes our role and relationships in the community, and

2) Develops creative social and digital media content that enhances MEOW's image, reputation, and brand

More specifically the Content Creator will:



Support the marketing and communication strategy in a manner that enhances public opinion, MEOW's reputation, and drives fund and philanthropic support.

Prepare original content that is creative, aligned with the brand standards and visual identity guide, that attracts more supporters and promotes the various entities of MEOW.

Prepare high quality, creative and consistent internal and external communications including publications, blogs, website, media, and advertising, 50/50's, raffles, corporate and community events.

Develop creative content that is timely and relevant, including: social media (Facebook, Instagram, Linked, etc.), news and blog articles, e-newsletters, etc.

Track key performance indicators for communications and marketing plans and initiatives, and complete monthly social media reports.

Regular engagement with our audiences, particularly across social channels.

Perform other duties as needed to support the foundation.

Qualifications



Strong computer literacy; experience with various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), social media scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, etc.) and design tools (Canva or similar).

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong, resourceful, and in-depth research skills.

Superior communication skills - written and verbal.

Excellent interpersonal skills working with all levels of the foundation, the public, and professionals. Able to develop rapport with people from all walks of life.

Demonstrate strong initiative, is a go-getter, and can work independently and efficiently.

Organized, cooperative and collaborative.

Compassionate, mature, displays thoughtful judgement and behavior.

Experience working with animals is an asset.

Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, journalism, or a similar field is preferred.

Working conditions



Hybrid (onsite at the Adoption Centre and work from home).

Must be comfortable working in a shelter environment including exposure to dust, animal fur, dander and animal waste, zoonotic disease, cleaning chemicals, wet floors.

Must be able to commute within the Calgary area to our facilities/locations and attend various events.

Hours of work are flexible Monday - Sunday. Must be available to check social media channels and engage with followers on Saturday and Sunday most weeks.

Salary: $20 / hour

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Calgary, AB T2K 5X2
