Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Consumer & Commercial Credit Administration, the Consumer Credit Administrator II works as part of a team responsible for providing consumer loan administration support. The Administrator II, after demonstrating the ability to effectively, independently and accurately execute all key accountabilities of a Consumer Credit Administrator I, will have primary responsibility for the various functions related to processing mortgage and loan advances and loan account modifications, internal risk controls and will provide backup within the department as necessary.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES*

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate, legal and timely completion of loan administration requirements, allowing member lending needs to be met in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for providing administrative support to the sales team as required; including management of incoming document packages and on-line submission requests for processing, distribution of fax and/or email requests for processing, and responding to inquiries.
  • Responsible for validation of accurate document packages submitted from sales teams according to established policy and procedures.
  • Management of property tax accounts and payment of property taxes to municipalities, towns, cities etc., within established deadlines.
  • Responsible for providing accurate and timely back office administration support to the sales team for consumer loan disbursements and maintenance on consumer loan accounts, including but not limited to:
  • Ensuring the receipt of required consumer mortgage collateral documentation to support the preparation and issuing of Solicitor Instructions.
  • Ensuring the completion of required consumer loan funding/disbursement documentation according to established verification standards.
  • Performing routine verifications and review of banking system generated reports according to established Credit Union guidelines and identify and initiate action required.
  • Verification and approval to pay property appraisal invoices.
  • Daily and monthly monitoring and reconciliation of consumer lending related internal accounts and GLs.
  • Registering collateral security: personal property registries and land title offices within legislative standards to perfect security.
  • Ensure related tasks are completed as required including but not limited to: CAFT, allotment, property tax account set-ups, etc.
  • Ensure processing of maintenance transaction requests are completed accurately and timely as requested by sales team.
  • Production of Mortgage Renewal documents, distribution to members and posting of new terms.
  • Monitoring monthly Personal Property Registry collateral security expiries and ensuring extensions are processed within deadlines.
  • Provide back up for filing administration.
  • Responsible for contributing to the overall department objectives and actively participating in team efforts to meet service standard commitments and improve efficiencies, including but not limited to participation in Kaizens and other departmental initiatives.
  • Responsible for maintaining thorough and current knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures and related legislation and regulation.
  • Required to keep strictly confidential the affairs of anyone whose private information becomes available to them in the course of their duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS*
Education and experience
A minimum of grade 12 diploma plus two to four years of job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
