Position Overview

The Learning & Organizational Development team is an extremely high performing team that is taking training at Trillium Health Partners to a new level. As a Learning & Organizational Development Consultant, you will be strategic partner in cultivating and sustaining a culture of continuous learning. You will work closely with our staff to lead professional development through the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of a wide variety of learning and development initiatives. You will be responsible for partnering with internal clients to diagnose issues and determine solutions including assessing organizational development needs, selecting, designing, implementing, and evaluating appropriate interventions.

Here's what you will get to do:

  • Partner with key stakeholders and plan, build and deliver engagement activities, learning and organizational projects and programs for the organization
  • Lead/support divisional structure discussions and work
  • Utilize your expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles to design, deliver, manage and evaluate learning and development programs using a variety of learning methods that appeal to various learning styles inclusive of online learning using formal platform tools
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the Employee and/or Leader Performance Management systems including logistics, design, communication, implementation, training and on-going support
  • Preparation, set up, facilitation and take down of training sessions for various groups at various locations (when applicable)
  • Keep abreast of current organizational development trends and developments in learning and instructional methodologies
  • Provide senior leadership with advice on training/learning structure and events
  • Other duties as required
Here's what you need to have:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Adult Education or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with a key focus on program design
  • Experience developing instructional and educational programming using a needs assessment and adult learning principles
  • Strong consultancy skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues in a professional manner
  • Ability to handle requests in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to communicate with individuals on all levels of the organization including strong team work skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Superior computer skills (Power Point , MS Office applications)
  • Change Management designation is a strong asset
  • Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP or CHRL) or Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation or working towards certification is an asset but not required
  • Gallup-certified as a Strengths Coach is an asset but not required
  • Strong event planning and event management

Position Location and Travel:

While this role is typically located at our Mississauga Hospital site, it is currently being conducted remotely. Travel to all THP sites may be required at different times to support our clinical staff. The successful candidate will be required to travel between three (3) sites, our Mississauga Site (M-Site), our Queensway Site (Q-Site) and Credit Valley Hospital (CVH) on an as-needed basis.

We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary works space will be remote work from home, but there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible.

The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee's place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy. Since employees should be available to return to the workplace with 24 hours' notice, remote work outside of the province or country is not acceptable.
