Job Description

CRCE Construction Group based in Vaughan Ontario, providing construction services for over 34 years is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Surveyor for an immediate-senior position. This is a full time position 12 months a year, not seasonal, not project based, permanent full time.

Applicants to have a minimum of 5 years progressive surveying/geotechnical experience in a civil construction environment.

Position overview:

As a Civil Construction Surveyor your role will be to conduct construction surveys throughout the GTA in accordance with appropriate survey legislation and practices.

Conditions of Employment:

Valid Class G driver's license

Acceptable driver's abstract per company policy

Excellent written and spoken English

Provide

Responsibilities:

Ability to read, understand, explain and interpret drawings and specifications;

Operate survey instruments such as Trimble Total Station with TSC7 Controller, Trimble R12I GPS with TSC 5 Controller;

Computer software skills in Micro survey, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Adobe PDF;

Experience in establishing control for the project;

Providing horizontal and vertical layout of various civil components such as but not limited to Curbs & Sidewalks, Retaining Walls, Watermains and Sewers;

Place survey points and offsets as needed including providing site crews with required grade sheets;

The ability to problem solve and work through design challenges;

Perform and arrange for survey checks and provide ongoing monitoring at various stages of construction projects Perform quantity calculations, data preparation, data analysis, and report generations;

Compile and maintain data, including maintenance of accurate records and documentation and field notes;

Record measurements and other information obtained during the field survey activities;

Dig holes and clear brush from sight lines;

Operate company vehicle responsibly;

General equipment care & maintenance;

Complete As-built Survey and drawings.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Qualifications:

Diploma in Geomatics;

Willing and able to work outside in the field in all weather conditions;

Must be willing to work some longer days if needed

Strong mathematical abilities;

Work safely in accordance with health and safety program;

Excellent interpersonal skills;

Strong commitment and attention to detail;

Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions.

Experience in the civil construction industry;

Attention to detail

Excellent verbal communication skills

Strong written communication skills

Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
