What you do:



Are you looking to develop your career in the construction industry? This position involves working on civil construction projects of various sizes and complexities while utilizing your skills performing/supporting field survey work.

The Construction Surveyor works with the Project Managers and Superintendents to oversee the layout of the projects, maintain functionality of GPS survey and machine control, provide training to field crew members, complete monthly project quantities and prepare as-builts.

Some tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment Record information and notes obtained during field survey and support activities Create/prepare data for the field including surface design files and linework Keep records, measurements and other survey information organized and filed properly Assist in the preparation of quantity measurements for progress reports Participate in and promote a safe work environment Ensure GPS machine control setup accuracy Maintain the condition of all survey equipment and supplies; order replacement parts when required. Understand construction milestones and assist Superintendent as required to maintain project schedule. Collect, organize and submit as-built information Setup/takedown of base stations and field survey tools

What background and qualifications you have:



Geomatics Technician Diploma, Surveying or Civil Engineering (considered an asset) 3 + Years work experience in a Survey Position Multiple years civil construction experience in survey role Experience with Trimble SCS900 program and survey equipment is a requiremen Experience with Trimble Business Center HCE Able to perform PDF quantity takeoffs, perform data preparation for field equipment, perform measurements of survey data for progress, and collect/review as-built information. Experience with Trimble GCS900 Machine Control system Diagnose issues and repair as needed Setup of Trimble base stations for projects Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work in both teams and independently with minimal supervision and high initiative Clean Driving Abstract Ability to travel to multiple job sites Due to the various job site requirements, this position requires the candidate to work away at times. Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
