The Construction Project Manager will lead end-to-end execution of construction projects including new builds and renovations. The CPM will be accountable for financial reporting, PM software integration, vendor management, cross functional team management, and construction management.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end construction project management, coordination, and successful delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Ensure projects align with budgetary, timing and scope requirements
  • Exhibit cross-functional leadership to ensure on-time and flawless project execution
  • Manage the design process efficiently, including coordinating the preparation of comprehensive drawing sets, review of shop drawings and making necessary recommendations
  • Oversee the tender process and offer strategic recommendations based on evaluation outcomes
  • Efficiently navigate and manage the building permit process
  • Co-ordinate ordering and shipment of trade fixtures, liaise with vendors to ensure delivery timelines are met
  • Negotiate with vendors to optimize costs
  • Act as the primary liaison between goeasy, site GCs, and Landlords, addressing site-specific needs during construction
  • Conduct field audits, deficiency walkthroughs, and store setups as required
  • Coordinate deficiency resolution with internal and external stakeholders, as needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed construction reports
  • Perform occasional site inspections, measurements, and minor construction tasks as needed
  • Perform construction cost estimation to facilitate high-level budget planning
  • Implement ongoing value engineering strategies to identify cost savings across the portfolio
  • Vendor management of all regional and national construction vendors, sourcing new vendors as required
  • Proactively identify, quantify, and mitigate potential risks to projects
  • Maintain regular communications to ensure successful project outcomes
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of construction experience, with a preference for retail construction
  • Post secondary education in related field such as civil engineering or construction technology
  • Prior design experience is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated project Management skills:
  • Previous experience coordinating a large portfolio of projects
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects at varying stages and complexity
  • Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong documentation and reporting
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word). Knowledge of AutoCAD is considered an asset
  • Strong English communication skills - oral and written. French language capabilities are an asset
  • Effective relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Proven problem solving skills; ability to identify and proactively address issues
  • A team player with a willingness to engage in tasks of all sizes
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
  • Valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel to local branches occasionally
  • Basic tools / construction skills
We offer a flexible, hybrid work environment with the requirement to be onsite at our head office (33 City Centre Drive, Mississauga) a minimum of 3 days per week.
