CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (Toronto or Calgary)

We are a fast-growing organization, currently seeking a Construction Manager to be a part of our high-achieving, diverse, innovating team.

The Opportunity
The Construction Manager will be responsible for working alongside project managers, architects, and engineers to successfully complete construction projects from their inception to conclusion. They will provide their expertise to manage risks, provide efficient solutions and smoothen the process of the projects.

This position will be permanent, full-time employment based in Calgary, AB or Toronto, ON.

Responsibilities

Work in a collaborative manner with other members to ensure the smooth functioning of projects.

Lead a team of construction professionals to ensure client requirements are met.

Lead the constructability analysis and deliver field execution leadership during the different phases of projects.

Oversee quality management, cost management and safety management of all resources.

Create the construction schedule, budget, and resources.

Oversee the contract negotiations with clients and communicate with the client teams.

Provide on-site quality assurance services and perform risk analysis and mitigation.

Prepare internal and external reports and monitor progress against the determined scope of work.

Be responsible for hiring the construction team and required contractors/sub-contractors.

Education and Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

15+ years of experience in construction management positions, with at least 5 years of experience in a senior role for the main contractor on projects >$1B in value.

Experience working as a superintendent.

3+ years of experience in projects with values >$1B related to tunneling, infrastructure, heavy civil, or mechanical/electrical experience.

Experience with integration of civil work with systems work for large light rail transit projects is considered an asset.

3+ years of light rail transit experience is an asset.

Experience with contractor and owner sides is an asset.

Must be based in Calgary or Toronto
