Tri-Core Projects Ltd. is a Manitoba-based full service civil and environmental construction company that has been proudly operating since 2003. Our operations include demolition, site preparation, excavation, underground service installation, remediation services, telecom, and special projects.
This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature, essential duties, and responsibilities of work performed by the incumbent of this position. It may not contain a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.
We are currently hiring for two TERM
General Labourer
to join our Utilities division to assist temporarily with wrapping up projects. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction industry, a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is physically able and willing to work for long periods of time in various weather conditions. We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible. Equipment operating experience and a Class 1 or 3 license is a great asset, but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Hand-digging and grading trenches.
Operate cutting equipment to cut various types of materials.
Operate small powered equipment and hand tools.
Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate.
Install and repair structures and systems.
Helping in any way possible with equipment and tool maintenance/repairs.
Take care of and maintain all company provided equipment, tools, and materials.
Ensure all tooling is organized, cleaned, and ready for use.
Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
Assist in demolishing structures using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials.
Be aware of project specifications and drawings.
Operation of Class 5 vehicles and trailers.
Complete daily walk around check for the assigned vehicle.
Complete daily vehicle inspection report on Site Docs as part of daily requirements.
Perform walk-around inspection prior to vehicle usage. Report any vehicle deficiencies.
Take care of and maintain all company provided equipment, tools, and vehicles.
Participate in daily site Safety meetings. Meeting will outline job hazards, daily tasks and required productions.
Complete required daily/weekly Safety forms as requested by Supervisor/Management (if applicable).
Discuss with the Supervisor the best way to set up your work area for maximum safety and productivity.
Prior to starting daily work tasks, understand overhead and underground utilities in your work area.
Communicate effectively with on-site teammates including use of hand-signals.
Maintain current certifications, as required.
Employee training and compliance.
Qualifications and Working Conditions:
Preference to have a
minimum of 1 year
experience in construction and/or heavy civil construction.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, peers, and clients.
Ability to travel where projects dictate; within Winnipeg and outside of Winnipeg work.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, and in all types of weather conditions.
Ability to work long and variable hours.
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs. equipment, tools, and boxes.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, as it is required for some secure sites.
Must have own tools and vehicle to commute to jobs.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
A Class 1 or 3 license with air brakes endorsement is an asset, and you are encouraged to identify this qualification on your resume if you have it.
