Duties
Position OverviewThe Estimator / Project Coordinator will play a key role in preparing quotes, managing client communications, coordinating trades, and ensuring that all project details are handled with precision.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both office work and occasional on-site involvement.
Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
Collaborate with project managers to develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and contracts for future reference.
Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to estimated costs.
Requirements
Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for asphalt, concrete, and maintenance projects.
Respond promptly to client inquiries by email and phoneSend out professional quotes and follow up with clients for approvals.
Review site drawings, measurements, and layouts -- especially for parking lots and drivewaysWork directly with trades and subcontractors, ensuring they complete assigned work properly and on time.
Visit project sites when necessary to take photos, confirm measurements, and verify job details.
Maintain organized project documentation, estimates, and communication records.
Support day-to-day office operations and assist management with scheduling and coordination tasks.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills & Qualifications
MUST HAVE STRONG ENGLISH VERBAL & COMMUNICATION SKILLS
1-3 years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or construction written and verbal communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and specifications
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (site visits required)
