Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project costs and preparing accurate estimates for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating practices, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Cost Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects using HeavyBid and other estimating software. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bidding. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project and provide updates as necessary. Utilize Bluebeam for takeoffs and document management to enhance accuracy in estimates. Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference. Participate in project meetings to discuss cost-related issues and provide insights on budget management.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor costs. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Familiarity with project management principles is a plus. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work output. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.

Pay: $43,261.41-$105,188.79 per year
