About this position:
Aspen Living is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of custom home projects from inception through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining project timelines and budgets, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout every stage of the build process.
A strong background in residential construction management, combined with excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills, is essential. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about high-quality home construction and take pride in delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
Develop detailed construction schedules, work plans, and project timelines
Coordinate all aspects of construction with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
Monitor site operations to ensure alignment with quality standards, safety regulations, and building codes
Proactively identify and resolve project delays and construction-related issues
Ensure efficient resource allocation and monitor labor productivity
Manage all procurement activities, including timely delivery of materials and equipment
Financial Oversight
Create and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution
Monitor project expenses and implement cost-control measures as needed
Evaluate and ensure subcontractor performance, timelines, and contractual compliance
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the homebuilding process
Conduct regular meetings and provide updates on project progress, timelines, and any changes
Manage client concerns with professionalism and responsiveness
Educate clients on design options, construction processes, and expectations
Build long-term client relationships to promote referrals and repeat business
Oversee final walk-throughs and ensure client satisfaction upon project completion
Quality Assurance
Conduct site inspections to ensure workmanship meets Aspen Living's standards
Implement quality control protocols across all stages of construction
Facilitate post-construction follow-ups to address any outstanding items or warranty issues
Daily site visits to Strathmore
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in residential construction management or a related role
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards
Proven track record of managing multiple custom home projects from start to finish
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost control
Proficient in construction software an asset
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience in client relations, customer success, or sales support is highly desirable
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
PMP, Gold Seal Certification, or similar professional designation is considered an asset
