We engage kids in an interactive and dynamic, fun- learning environment. At Ultimate Coders we believe every child has untapped potential and we are here to uncover those talents. Ultimate Coders incorporate Scratch, Python, Robotics, Arduino, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Math -- making connections that go beyond the classroom. We believe any child can learn to program, given the right environment and guidance. Our programs offer a fun, safe and rich environment for learning.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Programming Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our instructors are the means of support for our Ultimate Coders center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

Responsibilities include:

Training - go through the curriculum and learn it Teach a class of up to six students Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow Work with children to determine skill sets Be punctual Provide feedback to parents after working with a student who is there for assessment Follow opening/closing duties daily

Required Skills

We are looking for skills in the following areas. The more you know the better. However, the willingness and capacity to learn is even more important than how much you already know. You should have great communication and interpersonal skills.

Web Development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) Arduino using C++ Python Programming Scratch (Drag and Drop Programming)

Qualifications:

Graduate or graduating with a diploma or degree in computer science or a related field. At least 1-year experience in teaching or tutoring children ages seven and up. Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up the basic concepts.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$19.00 per hour

Evening shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed

This is an in-person teaching position at Oakville only. Our business hours are Mon to Fri: 4pm - 8pm and Sat: 11am - 2pm. Please provide your availability to work during these business hours?
