ABOUT OUR OPERATION


Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.


YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:


Reporting to Compliance Coordinator, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\xe2\x80\x99s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Assist in compliance of operations with regulations/permits/management plans;
• Prepare various internal and external environmental reports;
• Provide support for compliance with our environmental standards (Risk Management and Monitoring System (RMMS), Toward Sustainable Mining (TSM), Responsible Gold Mining Principle (RGMP), International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC));
• Provide guidance to underground and surface operations to ensure environmental obligations are met;
• Conduct QA/QC on monitoring compliance & data management activities;
• Ensure follow up and actions on non-conformities;
• Assist with Management Plans reviews;
• Collaborate with other departments, regulatory authorities and external consultants on files and studies pertaining to environment components, permitting and regulatory processes;
• Perform all other related duties as requested by the Compliance Coordinator.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline;
• 3+ years of relevant working experience in mining or environmental permitting;
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and revising technical reports and presentations and ability to adapt writing to type of deliverable and targeted audience;
• Comprehensive understanding of the various national, provincial and regional regulatory bodies that oversee mining projects;
• Arctic experience and mining project experience would also be an asset;
• Practice good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies;
• Experience with multi-tasking and working with multi-disciplinary project teams;
• Adaptability and autonomy competencies;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English. Your Work Schedule:

• Hybrid Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d\xe2\x80\x99Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC. Frequent visits to site are also required on a 7-7 schedule.
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
