Job Description

We are searching for a diligent Compliance Officer to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters.Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program.
• Advise management on the company's compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
• Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
• Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk.
• Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
• Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
• Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance.
• Implement and manage an effective AML/ATF program to ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, including PCMLTFA and OSFI Guidelines.
• Review and independently assess cases derived from unusual activity reports submitted by internal business units, employees, and program managers.
• Administer the implementation of regulatory compliance control databases.
• Ensure that actual and potential compliance violations and risk situations are proactively identified, investigated, and resolved or escalated in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Assist with monthly AML audits of various business units/branches.
• Maintain current understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practice, criminal typologies and developing trends.
• Support regulatory examinations and external/internal audits.
• Position requires a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services is imperative
• Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is necessary
• Expertise in using Compliance software is expected
• Ability to use CRM effectively is a must
• Comprehensive understanding of EHR SYSTEM is needed
• Knowledge of AML - Anti Money Laundering is crucial
• Experience in Auditing is highly valued
• Strong Communication skills are essential
• Proven experience in Complaint Handling is desired
• Demonstrated ability to ensure Compliance in all aspects of work is required.
