LCPA develops and implements policies and procedures, systems and controls, training and communications, monitoring activities, and management reporting to prevent, detect and respond to violations of law and company policies.We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our team and the role can be fully remote.Compliance Officers help Marsh McLennan colleagues adhere to relevant laws and regulations, and to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity, and professionalism.Compliance Officers create programs and respond to inquiries related to topics including but not limited to:

  • Anti-Money Laundering & Trade Sanctions
  • Policies & Training
  • Conflicts of Interest
  • Public Sector Regulations
  • Risk Assessments
  • Monitoring Activities
  • Privacy and Data Protection
Within the Marsh-Mercer US & Canada Compliance team, the Governance and Operations unit focuses on:
  • Driving efficiency and communicating insights for program processes, analytics, and risk
  • Ensuring programs and workflows deliver insights and are built for scale.
  • Aligning programs with risk, monitoring, and committee management
  • Synthesizing messaging from program analytics, developments, and trends for committee, leadership, and team communications

We will count on you to:
  • Respond to diverse questions from business colleagues on the application of the compliance program and relevant requirements in applicable lines of business or specialty areas.
  • Assist with establishing, reviewing, implementing, and maintaining effective Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, procedures, systems, and controls in compliance with applicable AML regulations and the organization\xe2\x80\x99s KYC/AML standards.
  • Perform regular review, monitoring, and analysis of transaction alerts using internal data to identify trends and unusual activity, to determinate if the transactions are suspicious in nature.
  • Develop policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and changes in market conditions.
  • Supervise and report for monitoring activities, assuring proper documentation.
  • Identify risks from monitoring, trends, driving mitigation plans.
  • Develop colleague training and awareness programs.
  • Propose and execute operational improvements to better serve the business.
  • Routinely engaging with the business through training, real-time guidance, and projects or larger initiatives.
  • Support quarterly committee reporting with analytics and programmatic enhancements.
  • Assist / manage the development of policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Support responses to regulators and other supervisory authorities.
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of compliance experience in a complex and regulated organization. Technological proficiency and experience working collaboratively and effectively in cross-functional teams and/or in a matrix organization, including on complex and sensitive matters.
  • AML / Trade Sanctions expertise
  • Monitoring experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Compliance related accreditations or qualifications preferable (CCEP, CHC, etc.)
  • Consulting experience
  • Professional manner with the ability to articulate and influence by identifying accurate compliance requirements to all stakeholders.
  • Experience managing compliance issues both in the US and in Canada
  • Post-graduate degree (MBA, JD)
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders and service providers.
  • Proactive, capable of multi-tasking, and ability to organize and prioritize deliverables to meet deadlines within a growing business environment.

Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
