About the role

Reporting to the Compensation & Benefits Director, the Compensation Manager is responsible for leading a team of professionals that design, implement, communicate and look to continuously improve compensation strategies and programs that support Graham\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives in both Canada and the U.S.
As a Compensation Manager at Graham you will:


  • Develop, execute and monitor the effectiveness of the compensation strategy (salary, incentive-based compensation, perquisites, allowances and uplifts) to support Graham\xe2\x80\x99s short and long term business strategies.
  • Keep abreast of trends in compensation trends and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor overall market competitiveness and legal compliance of compensation programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various levels of senior executives.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the compensation team, including support for career development.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Advisory team to understand business needs and ensure smooth roll-out of compensation related programs.
  • Oversee organization wide job structure and recommend changes as required.
  • Develop company-wide approach to performance management, including communication and systems, and support execution of the annual process.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferably in Business or Human Resources, with additional courses or training in Compensation and Benefit Program design.
  • CCP, CECP, CEB, or CHRP designation would be an asset.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of professional Human Resources work experience, preferably with at least five (5) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a Compensation role leading the development and implementation of total rewards programs.
  • A broad, strategic view of HR balanced with significant process engineering and design capability.
  • Advanced skills in designing compensation and incentive plans, including exposure to executive level compensation and incentive programs.
  • Experience in job classification/evaluation and developing career paths.
  • Strong knowledge base and understanding of how to utilize HRIS to support effective performance management and compensation planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions with Senior Management on business strategies and work plans, and to create key performance indicators.
  • Excellent data manipulation and general computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the operation of HR Information Systems or software products.
