We are looking for people ready to share, build, and grow with our company.This role is responsible for the coordination of training programs and other training-related activities conducted in their community, as required by the Company for the Training and Inuit Success Department. The activities include, but are not limited to, Work Ready Program (WRP) training and Employment and Training Information Sessions (ETIS). For all activities, the coordination task includes organizing the logistics for the event locally, registering interested participants, ensuring that the activity takes place efficiently, documenting the training being delivered, producing periodic reports, recording expenditures.*The ideal candidate is resident and will be based in Igloolik, Nunavut*Main Accountabilities

  • Coordination of training programs for communities:
Assist with the coordination of Work Ready Program (WRP) training in the communities delivered in- person or virtually.
Assist with the coordination of the quarterly Employment and Training Information Session (ETIS) tours in each of the six (6) hiring points.
Support and participate in training programs (such as WRP and ETIS) by way of helping with registration, completing documentation, taking pictures of events, and more.
Continuously work with the Baffinland Community Liaison Officers (BCLOs) to advertise for upcoming events, organize logistics and ensure sufficient participants.
Support any new Baffinland-funded training initiatives for Inuit, e.g. adult education, driver training, financial literacy, etc.
Assist any new site based employees or contractors requiring training before arriving at site, such as the onboarding e-learning modules.
Assist any existing site based employees or contractors asking for other training such as the Pathways to Adult Secondary School (PASS) program or driver training in the communities.
Liaise with Nunavut Arctic Colleges (NAC) and other educational institutions/organizations, such as high schools, to know their training program offerings.
  • Coordination of the logistics and procurement for all training programs:
Assist with the arrangement of all the required logistics for each training program (e.g. ETIS, WRP) : trainer(s) and participant(s) flights, transportation, venue, catering, food, accommodation, etc.
Liaise with the Oakville-based Training Program Coordinator and Communications Department to advertise the event in advance using various media, such as radio and social media posts.
  • Development and maintenance of training schedules:
Collaborate with the Training Program Coordinator regarding the scheduling of in-community WRP, ETIS, and other community-based training initiatives throughout the year to meet the Inuit Impact Benefits Agreement (IIBA) commitments.
  • Documentation, recording, and reporting:
Capture, record, and report on all training data with regard to Inuit Success training programs.
Generate monthly training reports, including analysis of previously month\xe2\x80\x99s activities and summary of details on upcoming initiatives.
Develop and/or improve trackers and reports for training as required.
  • Financial administrative support:
1. Assist with obtaining quotes and invoices for vendors involved in the training activities.Main Qualifications
  • 2 to 3 years of work experience
  • Must know how to work with MS Word, Excel,MS Outlook etc.
  • Proven ability to communicate with key stakeholders including community members, Inuit Associations and government agencies.
  • Must have good people skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks on a timely basis.
  • Nunavut Land Claims Beneficiary, with a thorough knowledge of Inuit Culture is an asset.
  • high school diploma required, diploma from a vocational institution or college is preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a professional manner.
