Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the
Community Settlement Program Coordinator
provides settlement related activities and assistance to newcomer individuals and families living in the Family Dynamics settlement service area in Winnipeg. The ultimate goal is to increase clients knowledge of life in Canada and connections to the community services and social networks. The Community Settlement Program Coordinator completes regular and systematic outreach efforts, conducts screening and registration of program participants, plans for Information & Orientation and Community Connections programming, provides information, as well as facilitates access to community resources and connections.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Ensure outreach is regularly and systematically carried out in an active, hands-on, multi-pronged and personal way to connect with and provide support to newcomer families as well as to develop networks and partnerships throughout the service delivery area.
Plan, develop and deliver/facilitate a variety of programs including conversation circles and others that support settlement efforts of the newcomer families in accordance with program expectations and goals
Attend, facilitate and support Information & Orientation and Community Connections programs.
Develop and implement opportunities for cultural bridging and creating community connections.
Undertake administrative duties including gathering data, program registration and tracking program attendance, compiling case notes when appropriate, completing reports and financial reporting.
Undertake any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor degree in Human Services field required
A minimum of 2 years experience working in the settlement sector in a position delivering supportive programs and services
Demonstrated understanding of the settlement process and of issues relating to the refugee and immigrant experience
