Chilliwack Youth Health Centre is an integrated youth service provider of medical and mental health care services for youth aged 12-26. We are in our tenth year of operation. Our mission is to empower youth through providing accessible low barrier, same-day medical and mental health integrated youth services. Collaborating with youth to be where they need services, when, and how they need them.

About the position:



Chilliwack Youth Health Centre (CYHC) is seeking an experienced Community Engagement & Program Coordinator. As an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, the Community Engagement & Program Coordinator is responsible for fostering strong relationships with community partners, planning engagement events, coordinating interns & programs, and assisting with fundraising activities.

CYHC determines an individual's pay based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team. The compensation range for this role is $23-$25/hr.

The hours of work for this position will range from 15-30 hours per week as an employee of CYHC. Hours worked will be determined according to the Centre as determined from time to time. To respond to business needs, this role may be required to work more or fewer hours than the standard hours as determined by the Centre.

Qualifications and Experience:



The ideal applicant will have an undergraduate degree in human services, psychology, child and youth or related field and relevant experience, skills and training including:

Ability to provide a valid and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search. Minimum of three years of program coordination experience preferably in the nonprofit sector. Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, coordination and evaluation. Ability to develop positive relationships with funders and community stakeholders. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community mental health resources. Broad knowledge of community trends and legislative requirements related to program responsibilities. Experience with diverse client groups and client intake, assessment, intervention and transitions. Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and client confidentiality. Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Experience working with youth and diverse client groups. Strong ability to create productive working relationships with team members. Experience and strong aptitude in the human resource and administration areas. Knowledge of spreadsheet and database software. Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes. First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

Role and Responsibilities:



Community Engagement & Events:



Plan, organize, and attend community events that promote the organization's mission and programs Maintain connections with community partners to foster collaboration and engagement. Lead tours at centre locations to introduce visitors, stakeholders, and partners to services offered.

Program Coordination, Support & Facilitation:



Oversee and support the intake process for group programming, ensuring effective coordination and participation. Monitor and maintain necessary supplies, snacks, and resources for group sessions, addressing logistical needs proactively. Collaborate with interns, providing guidance and administrative support to enhance program efficiency. Assist in scheduling and organizing group sessions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs. Track and evaluate program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions as needed. Work closely with Directors of Counselling and other team members to streamline program facilitation and optimize service delivery. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and organizational policies related to program operations. Support ongoing training initiatives, including Tuesday Trainings and EDRD (Every Door is the Right Door) training, to strengthen community engagement and program development.

Administrative & Internship Support:



Assist with intern coordination including intake and orientation processes. Support interns by providing guidance, assistance with administrative tasks, and mentorship. Offer logistical and administrative support to Directors of Counselling. Check in with relevant personnel to address concerns and improve the intern experience.

Fundraising & Organizational Events:



Collaborate with the fundraising committee to support planning and coordination of fundraising events, the AGM, and other community engagement initiatives as funding allows. Assist in inventory control and tracking of auction items and fundraising resources. Work closely with interns to support administrative aspects of fundraising efforts.

Communications & Outreach:



Develop and distribute quarterly newsletters to community partners, members, and board members. Represent CYHC at Chilliwack Child & Youth Committee meetings and related activities.

Strategic and Operational Planning:



Participate in team strategic planning. Contribute to the identification of strategic goals in relation to undertaking effective administration, especially as it relates to the provision of the best primary health care possible. Provide Input to Quality Improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the team in identifying and prioritizing periodic quality improvement evaluation activity. Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of QI and evaluation initiatives. Contribute to the interpretation of data and the development of QI strategies to continually improve the integrated services of the CYHC. Other duties as required
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
