The Community Protection Manager leads the implementation of laws, safety protocols, and community-based strategies that support the security and well-being of the KFN community. This role bridges community engagement with law enforcement, works closely with internal departments and external agencies, and plays a central role in community education, emergency planning, and restorative justice initiatives.

What You'll Do:



Enforce KFN laws and issue permits, warnings, and violation notices Develop and implement safety, law enforcement, and education programs Collaborate with RCMP, government agencies, and internal departments Lead community engagement, emergency planning, and restorative justice efforts Respond to safety incidents and coordinate appropriate crisis responses Monitor and report on community patrols, prepare briefings for Council Support monthly safety meetings, permit applications, and related administrative duties Manage funding applications, budgets, and reporting for safety programs

What You Bring:



Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of formal learning and lived experience Prior law enforcement experience required; health-related training (e.g., addictions, suicide prevention) is an asset Strong knowledge of First Nations governance, culture, and history Proven leadership, planning, and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with emotional intelligence and discretion Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and standard office technology Experience working with Indigenous communities preferred Advanced Criminal Record Check required; willingness to travel for training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $89,225.00-$113,875.00 per year
