With over 480 acres of trails, lakes, and amenities, Kivi Park offers year-round opportunities for hiking, biking, skiing, paddling, and community events that celebrate the outdoors.
Position Overview
The Community Partnership & Events Lead (Intern) will play a key role in strengthening Kivi Park's relationships with community organizations, sponsors, and event partners while supporting the growth of new and returning events that draw visitors to the region.
This position combines partnership development, sponsorship outreach, and event coordination -- helping to expand Kivi Park's community presence and support its goal of increasing year-round visitation through engaging, well-supported events.
Working closely with the Executive Director, the intern will help attract new partnerships, support the delivery of both Kivi Park-led and third-party events, and contribute to initiatives that promote Kivi Park as a four-season destination for recreation and outdoor experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with community groups, sponsors, and event partners.
Support the development of sponsorship proposals, partnership packages, and recognition plans.
Assist in attracting and coordinating new events that align with Kivi Park's mission and drive tourism and community participation.
Work with third-party organizers to ensure successful delivery of events at the park.
Support communications, logistics, and partner engagement for both community and tourism-focused initiatives.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify and secure new partnership and event opportunities.
Contribute to marketing and outreach activities that highlight Kivi Park's role as a year-round outdoor destination.
Track partnership deliverables and assist with sponsorship reporting and recognition.
Maintain accurate records of partnerships, sponsorships, and events.

Qualifications
Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, tourism, recreation, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
Confident in outreach, relationship management, and community networking.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Passionate about outdoor recreation, community building, and event development.
Must meet the eligibility requirements of the government-funded internship program.
Funding Information
This position is government funded through a youth employment initiative supporting skill development and career growth for emerging professionals in Northern Ontario.
Candidate Criteria
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Be 30 years of age or younger at the start of employment.
Be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed/underemployed and entering a new field.
Must not have previously participated in a government-funded internship under this program's current mandate.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Once hired, must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.
