Responsibilities

  • Prescription management: Review prescriptions to ensure proper dosage and accuracy.
  • Compounding and dispensing: Calculate, measure, and mix pharmaceutical products, filling appropriate containers with the correct quantities.
  • Medication management: Maintain customer medication profiles, including controlled substances. Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of vaccines, serums, and other drugs.
  • Inventory control: Order and manage pharmaceutical supplies to maintain stock levels.
  • Customer consultation: Advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medications. Renew existing prescriptions in limited circumstances.
  • Professional responsibilities: Adapt medication formulations, regimens, and administration routes as necessary. May supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacy staff.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • A university degree in pharmacy and a period of supervised practical training are required.
  • Eligible for and maintains licensure as a pharmacist in the Province of Manitoba
  • Class 5 driver\'s license and personal vehicle for service within Prairie Mountain Health
Employment Requirements
  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy practice/healthcare setting Is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse population.
