Saskatchewan Blue Cross\xc2\xae, one of Saskatchewan\xe2\x80\x99s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time temporary Community Engagement Specialist to join our team in the Marketing department. This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon office. This is a temporary position for up to 18 months with the possibility of extension.

Reporting directly to the Director, Marketing & External Affairs, the Community Engagement Specialist will work with all community stakeholders Saskatchewan Blue Cross engages through Brand Sponsorships, its Corporate Social Responsibility program, and its Community Investment activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of approved sponsorship, donation, and community engagement initiatives
  • Ensure Saskatchewan Blue Cross representation at all initiatives or events by communicating, advertising, and enlisting appropriate individuals
  • Administer the intake of requests for sponsorship and donations, and recommend appropriate investments by applying established criteria to determine fit with Saskatchewan Blue Cross objectives, mission, vision, and values
  • Execute donations, activations and strategic partnerships, enlisting the assistance of marketing and communications resources to effectively support all community organizations Saskatchewan Blue Cross works with to ensure the Saskatchewan Blue Cross brand is effectively represented through events, advertising, recognition, and media engagement
  • Coordinate, promote, and administer community engagement sessions and partner meetings
  • Establish, monitor, measure, and report on the success and impact of all sponsorship and community investment initiatives in accordance with the established measurement and evaluation frameworks; analyze data to help determine and recommend improvements to strategic approach
  • Support internal communication efforts amongst employees to drive engagement, awareness, volunteerism, and excitement for all the Corporate Social Responsibility programs, including assistance in the execution of employee payroll donation campaigns
  • Support external communications to highlight Saskatchewan Blue Cross\xe2\x80\x99 positive community engagement and impact through websites, communication programs to members, brokers and clients, social media, brand campaigns, and social media
  • Understand and incorporate emerging trends, best practices, and industry standards into community investment approach
  • Conduct environmental scans of community opportunities in the health and wellness space in Saskatchewan and maintain contact databases
  • Ensure compliance with corporate trade-mark guidelines when supplying and proofing marketing materials
  • Organize displays for community-sponsored presentations and events to ensure branding standards are met and all equipment has been booked and secured
  • Provide support to the departmental budgeting process
  • Remain current with company and industry product and service offerings
  • Participate on cross departmental teams or committees
  • Perform various other projects on an as-requested basis and other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Completion of a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Marketing or a related field and 2-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in Public Relations, and/or Communications
  • Previous event coordination experience would be considered an asset
  • A demonstrated understanding of the insurance and/or health care industry would be considered an asset
  • Experience in the use of social media tools, analytics, content planning, and digital marketing techniques
  • Demonstrated experience writing/editing marketing materials, proposals, presentations, and communications
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to easily learn new programs
  • Experience in adhering to and managing a budget
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative, deadline-driven, fast-paced, creative, and member-focused team environment, with some short/immediate deadlines to accommodate
  • Commitment and passion to excel in the delivery of superior customer service
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
