North House is seeking an enthusiastic professional fundraiser to join our team as the Community Engagement, Event & Relationship Manager, who will play a key role in building and strengthening relationships with donors and the implementation of community and corporate giving. What you\'ll be doing: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement, Event & Relationship Manager is an essential position responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship program that ensures all supporters feel extremely positive about the impact of their generosity. This role is also responsible for community outreach and fundraising that ensures that events, cause marketing, and other corporate and community giving initiatives are successful. Summary of duties:

  • Oversee stewardship functions for all North House programs including major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, signature events, and community initiatives.
  • Seek out, secure, support, and steward third-party events.
  • Lead the execution of our signature events Coldest Night of the Year and Hope for Homes.
  • Build relationships with local businesses and corporations in order to secure sponsorships and cause marketing opportunities.
  • Solicit major gifts or mid-level gifts from local businesses and corporations on a case-by-case basis.
  • Research and pursue new strategies to expand community giving programs.
  • Plan and execute customized stewardship plans for donors and sponsors.
  • Prepare donor impact reports, annual donor report, and other pertinent stewardship materials in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Write tailored thank you letters and pledge reminder letters.
  • Liaise with outreach staff to gather information for stewardship letters and reports.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans (including corresponding budgets) and tactics for the North House stewardship program.
  • Plan and execute donor stewardship events. Increase experiential stewardship opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain all stewardship documentation and tracking, including leveraging a donor database.
What you bring to the position:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional fundraising organization or customer service environment.
  • A passion for storytelling through impactful writing.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven project management success with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Experience with fundraising database applications.
  • Proven success in executing events that meet goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A passion for helping those who are struggling with homelessness.
  • Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to vehicle required with a minimum of $2M liability insurance

Office setting with occasional travel to events or client and agency meetings within the Durham Region catchment area. Compensation and Hours This is a full-time position with regular hours of work are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday; however, occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Salary $65K/year. Please note that submissions will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and therefore early submission is encouraged.
