Event Coordinator, Community Engagement
As an institutional priority, USask\'s sustainability strategy articulates a vision where sustainability pervades all decisions with our institution. The Office of Sustainability exists in a complex, matrix structure, where significant portions of the sustainability strategy are accomplished by other units across campus. The Office of Sustainability works to 1) support all other units across campus by providing overarching guidance, coordination, and reporting USask\'s progress on achieving this strategy and 2) catalyzing social change by promoting, engaging and supporting shared knowledge, expertise and experiences to affect the changes needed.
Primary Purpose:
The Community Engagement & Event Coordinator is designed to implement opportunities to advance on Commitment 1 (Leverage Our Place) and Commitment 5 (Catalyze Social Change), as outlined in USask\'s sustainability strategy, with particular emphasis on events and engagement strategies which will increase awareness of the strategy and mobilize action throughout multiple groups across campus, including student groups, elected student officials, staff and faculty members.
Nature of Work:
Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), the Coordinator works in a team environment with other Office of Sustainability staff, as well as independently, to deliver and oversee best-practice student, faculty and staff engagement programs, events and communications designed to accelerate progress towards USask\'s sustainability strategy.

Key relationships will include staff in Teaching, Learning & Student Experience (TLSE), the School of Environment & Sustainability (SENS), and student leaders from the University of Saskatchewan Students\' Union (USSU) and Graduate Students Union (GSA).
The Coordinator will be primarily working to implement engagement events and programs, but will also play a role in the design and planning for annual engagement and events as well as the larger communications and engagements strategy of the Office of Sustainability. The position requires exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to productively engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
