Location:
Remote - Burns Lake, BC, servicing the Cheslatta Carrier Nation, Lake Babine Nation, Nee-Tahi Bunn Band, Skin Tyee Nation, Stellat'en First Nation, Ts'il Kaz Koh First Nation and the Wet'suwet'en First Nation - Travel throughout the Northern Region and sub-regions is required.
About the role
As Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting communication, collaboration, and planning efforts with First Nations communities across British Columbia. Working as part of a regional team, you will lead and assist in the development and delivery of local engagement initiatives. Your work will ensure that engagement strategies, resources, and activities are well-coordinated, effectively integrated, and aligned with both strategic priorities and operational needs within the Northern Region.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be -
Education and Experience
A university degree in health sciences, education, social services, or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and professional experience.
3-5 years of experience providing coordination support to BC First Nations communities.
Proven ability to engage and collaborate with First Nations at the community and/or political level, with knowledge of cultural practices and protocols.
A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of provincial and federal health systems, community engagement and development, and the health needs and issues of First Nations communities.
Familiarity with the BC First Nations political and governance landscape, including current community, Nation, and regional contexts.
Competencies
Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to develop, adapt, and report on work plans.
Proven ability to build respectful, collaborative relationships with diverse individuals and groups, with effective conflict resolution skills.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to tailor presentations and materials to various audiences.
Skilled in coordinating and facilitating meetings or gatherings, including preparation of relevant documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
