POSITION SUMMARY



KSACC is excited to hire a Community Based Victim Service (CBVS) Worker to support victims of sexualized and intimate partner violence. The CBVS worker supports folks navigating the criminal legal system at every phase. This can include things like exploring reporting options, applying for benefits and supports, attending court, registering and receiving updates from police and Crown. The position is based out of KSACC's Kamloops office and is full-time at 32 hours, based on a 4 day work week.

SCHEDULE?& COMPENSATION



This is a full-time (32 hours/week due to 4-day work week) position, and it includes extended health and dental benefits as well as vacation entitlement. Compensation for this position is $30.72/hour, with regular increases as funding?permits.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Client intake and assessment to determine program suitability Building support plan and actions with clients, providing advocacy when necessary and appropriate Participating in community-based committee Build and maintain relationships with key partners Conduct referrals?to?and/or advocacy with other community service?providers,?as necessary, to provide a holistic support plan. Maintain case files, statistics?and?participate?in program evaluations?that adhere to funder and agency requirements. Actively promote the program and provide psychoeducational material as necessary within the community Provide back-up coverage of the Crisis Line on occasion Provide back-up coverage of Front Desk on occasion Participate in case management, staff meetings, job evaluation and other Agency-related forms of supervision and participation as?required. Perform other related duties as required by the Agency Coordinator

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS



Post-secondary education in a relevant field:?Human Services Diploma,?Bachelor's Degree?(women's or gender studies, criminology,?social work,?sociology, psychology, law),?or equivalent combination of experience and education Experience working with Indigenous folks,?communities?and organizations Experience working folks who have experienced gender-based violence Experience working with the justice/legal system Experience developing?community relationships and concise educational material Satisfactory completion?of a criminal record check with vulnerable populations

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS



Working?knowledge of Intersectional Feminist practice; Working knowledge of trauma-informed practice; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sexualized violence; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous contexts, cultures, decolonial practice, and key documents like the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action and Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls; Capacity?to work with individuals who have diverse life experiences; Excellent communication skills?(written and oral); Demonstrated?capacity?to adhere to privacy and confidentiality legislation and guidelines; Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
