About Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Arctic Canadian is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine, located in Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic Canadian has offices in Canada and Belgium. Position Overview As a member of the Human Resources and Corporate Communications Team, the Summer Student will report to the Manager of Corporate Communications and will work Monday to Friday. This position is based out of the Calgary office with an option to work remotely on Monday and Friday. The Communications Summer Student will have the opportunity to support activities relating to SharePoint website administration, writing and editing marketing and communications content for a variety of audiences and assisting with some general administrative duties. The position will begin in May 2023 with a term length of four (4) months. This opportunity is open to post-secondary students currently enrolled in a Communications or Marketing program. Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the HR and Communications team to strategize about how to effectively reach a wide range of internal audiences, such as field workers at a remote mine site location.
  • Work with the team to develop engaging internal and external online, print and mobile content that is supported by visual design elements for community newsletters, website content, internal messages and bulletin boards.
  • Support event planning as required.
  • Engage and participate in team meetings.
  • Maintain, manage and classify files and records which may include confidential records.
  • General administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience
  • Applicants must currently be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary institution with a major in Communications or Public Relations.
  • Strong computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Suite of applications.
  • Experience with SharePoint and/or WordPress would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of creating basic graphic elements or infographics that align with set corporate brand standards would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with multimedia, video editing, and using presentation tools (such as Sway or other multimedia presentation tool) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
  • Trustworthy and professional in dealing with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to accurately analyze information and be adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Positive attitude and willing to take initiative.
