The City of Edmonton has a terrific opportunity for a marketing and communications student to contribute as a team player in our fast-paced environment supporting the Workforce Support and Development area. Reporting to the Manager of Workforce Support and Development, Edmonton Transit Service, you will be responsible for developing and updating communications and marketing materials and strategies to support key business projects for the Hiring and Recruitment area for Operators that support the department\xe2\x80\x99s goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while gaining valuable knowledge and skills in an empowering environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Provide communications and/or marketing advice that supports business goals and objectives
  • Support the development and implementation of communications and/or marketing plans
  • Participate in client meetings and coordinate communication and/or marketing activities
  • Assist with event planning and execution
  • Develop content for new print and digital materials to support recruitment (i.e. updated pamphlet, webpages)
  • Develop content for information sessions - presentation decks, speaking notes, overall logistic plan
  • Research and assist with strategy development to support recruitment for Operator roles
  • Assist with goals of increasing awareness of transit operator postings and support diversity & inclusion
  • Provide support with planning and project management of marketing projects
  • Perform other related duties as needed
Note: This position may be a combination of working from home and in an office setting.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications or related post-secondary degree program
  • Experience in development and implementation of marketing and/or communications strategies
  • Demonstrated ability using Google Workspace applications
  • Experience in project management or working with multiple stakeholders to complete projects
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction from and provide support to various City staff
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver\'s licence (or provincial equivalent) is considered as an asset. May be required to arrange own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require business auto insurance
