We understand that work gives hope, strengthens relationships and drives economic growth.About the roleLocation: Work from home anywhere in CanadaThe Communications & Social Media Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining WCG\xe2\x80\x99s Social Media channels, with a focus on increasing awareness of the WCG brand and its programs and services. A key priority for this role is ensuring innovative digital strategies and campaigns that result in achievement of employment program client volume targets.Reporting to the Director, Strategic Communications & Marketing, this role will support business growth and employment services operational delivery through building and maintaining social media campaigns, as well as implementation, analysis and reporting on campaigns, to continuously drive improvement.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Support the Director with the development and distribution of internal and external communication
  • Write and develop content that aligns with the brand strategy across all programs, including for WCG managed websites
  • Plan, create, publish and share new content (including original text, images, video, and code) on a daily basis that builds meaningful customer connections, increases brand awareness, and encourages community members to engage with the WCG program brands
  • Execute a results driven social media strategy including optimizing company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company\xe2\x80\x99s social content
  • Engage with online community to drive increase in client volumes, audience numbers, CTR, etc, including responding to comments, messages and inquiries
  • Support local ES program staff with responding to social media comments and messages
  • Develop and implement social media calendar
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop social media campaigns
  • Monthly analytical reporting
  • Assist with blog posts, newsletters, graphic creation, and more when necessary
QualificationsWhat you bring
  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in managing Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Paid Search (PPC)
  • Technical and working knowledge of SEO, SEM (search, display, video), Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Certificate for Google Ads Professional (Ads fundamentals, Search advertising and Display) as well as Bing certificate beneficial
  • Experience working with popular PPC ad platforms (AdWords, Yahoo, Bing).
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools. Sharepoint experience beneficial but not required
  • WordPress, HubSpot and other web CMS systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite & Canva
  • MailChimp experience preferred
  • Passion for social media and internet marketing
  • Results-oriented mindset and experience
  • Keep pace with search engine and PPC industry trends and developments
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively and identify and resolve problems
  • Bilingual (French) considered an asset
