What you will be doing!
Working with subject matter experts to research material for communications products, and to ensure accuracy of final content.
Writing and edit corporate communications products such as articles, website content, fact sheets and presentations, translating technical/scientific concepts into plain language.
Leading delivery of CNL\xe2\x80\x99s Education & Outreach program
Working closely with the business lines to determine the corporate communications needs.
Writing content and develop communications plans and products to meet objectives.
Providing line management with strategic advice on how communications can support achieving objectives.
Supporting the Emergency Operations Centre during periods of activation, and training exercises.
Maintaining familiarity with CNL\xe2\x80\x99s mass communications solutions and technologies.
Developing communications strategies and material to support emergency communications.
Triaging and providing recommendation on CNL\xe2\x80\x99s investment in local communities
Building relationships with key community contacts, ensuring trust is established and communication channels are in place
Identifying opportunities to build CNL\xe2\x80\x99s brand with in local and extended communities through delivery of an Education Program
What we are looking for:
A university degree/college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
Five years of progressive experience in a business communications environment.
Experience developing and designing communications products, including fact sheets, media releases, newsletter articles, key messages, and online content for public audiences and for media.
Experience working with technical/scientific subject matter experts to gather information to be used in developing communications products.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Ability to communicate complex technical/scientific information to lay audiences in clear, understandable language.
Ability to discuss sensitive subjects with stakeholders resulting in productive outcomes.
Ability to identify issues that require management attention in a timely manner.
Ability to develop communications strategies/plans to support the requirements of a public information program.
Knowledge of Adobe Create Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid G Ontario drivers licence
Knowledge of public communications best practices and in a highly regulated industry such as nuclear.
Knowledge of working with a cross-functional project team.
Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.

This role is based out of CNL\xe2\x80\x99s Chalk River, which will be the designated workplace. CNL may require travel from time to time, as necessary.
