Communications Manager / Proposal Specialist Kirkor Architects & Planners is a multi-faceted architectural design and planning firm with an award winning reputation for design excellence and client service. We are a highly collaborative, partner driven team of about 120 architects, designers, planners, technical and support staff working on projects across North America. We are currently seeking a Communications Manager and Proposal Specialist with experience in the advanced development of proposals and internal/external messaging in both digital and print media. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is creative and has excellent editing and document drafting skills. As an active participant to the marketing team, this candidate will help manage our website and social media posts and maintain project documentation and our graphics data base. Those with strong editorial backgrounds or from architectural-related fields would be an asset. This position will be based in our Toronto office and, will support our Calgary office as well. Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading brand management and marketing strategy across all internal and external content
  • Development of corporate collateral including business cards, CVs, letterheads, logos and other promotional content and documents
  • Procurement, organization and digital editing of visual assets including project, staff and event photography
  • Curation and execution of digital media in various formats and across all social media platforms and website
  • Curation of templates for staff newsletters, memos, training, presentations and other documents
  • Assist in outreach for business development opportunities, award submissions, and any related advertising; curation of customized promotional packages
  • Management all phases of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses by curating, reviewing, editing content and incorporating materials received internally.
  • Coordination with team members for RFP project content collection, develop custom graphics, and assist in the presentation development
  • Assistance with the management and updating of project information data base
  • Strong proofreading and editing abilities for proposals, responses, PR work, and internal or external messaging
Qualifications:
  • University degree or College diploma in marketing, communication, journalism, preferably in an architectural-design related field.
  • Candidate with 2 to 5 years of marketing field experience
  • 2+ years with experience in proposal writing/document drafting
  • Strong editorial writing and communication, journalism is an asset
  • A creative and forward thinking person who enjoys bringing new ideas to the table
  • Strong knowledge and skill with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and
Creative Suites
  • Must know MS Office and have some editing software or website management tools
  • Solid emphasis on verbal communication, to diligently keep connected with the team or co-workers
  • A self-starter who is able to work independently and manage tight deadlines
  • A highly organized and proactive person to manage multiple priorities with a highly detail-oriented manner.
