We are looking to hire a Communications Coordinator! This role plays a key role in supporting both internal and external communications for Sun Peaks Resort and Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. This position develops and distributes messaging that engages employees, informs guests, and strengthens community connections. Acting as a bridge between the Employee Experience (EEX) function and the MarComms department, the Coordinator ensures consistent, timely, and brand-aligned communications across multiple platforms. Compensation Information:

$55,000 to $60,000 per annum


Physical Requirement:

Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.


This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:




Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in communications, marketing, HR/EEX support, or a related field. Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to produce clear, audience-focused messaging. Comfortable working with digital tools such as intranet platforms, email newsletters, and social media. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Collaborative team player who can work with both HR/EEX and Leadership. Knowledge of communications best practices for internal audiences (employee communications) and external stakeholders (guest/community communications). Familiarity with tourism, hospitality, or resort operations is an asset. A passion for outdoor recreation (skiing, snowboarding, biking, golfing) considered an asset.

Primary Responsibilities:




Internal Communications & Employee Engagement:


Coordinate timely internal updates, announcements, and messaging in collaboration with EEX. Support use of employee-facing channels including digital signage, posters, and employee screens. Assist with employee surveys, feedback tools, and engagement forums (e.g., seasonal panels, recognition programs, ERGs). Provide communications support for employee engagement initiatives, training sessions, and internal events. Collaborate with HR/EEX and MarComms colleagues on internal campaigns to ensure consistency of tone and brand alignment. Contribute to emergency response and crisis communication planning from an internal communications perspective.

Guest & External Communications:


Draft and distribute timely guest-facing communications (operational updates, service changes, event messaging). Assist with website updates, blogs, and guest newsletters under the direction of the Brand & Communications Manager. Coordinate community relations communications, including updates for local partners, residents, and stakeholders. Monitor public channels and escalate guest or community concerns to Manager.

Content Creation & Support:


Write and edit clear, compelling copy for internal memos, newsletters, blogs, and social media. Assist with photo/video content collection for employee storytelling as needed. Support social media content creation and scheduling as needed. Ensure all messaging follows brand guidelines and maintains a consistent voice. Track communication activities and provide feedback on effectiveness (e.g., employee survey participation, channel reach). Support HR/EEX and MarComms projects and events with communications execution as needed.

Collaboration & Administration:


Serve as the day-to-day communications contact for the EEX team, ensuring smooth coordination between the EEX/HR and MarComms teams. Work cross-functionally with EEX, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment on key communications. Track communications activities and provide performance feedback (open rates, engagement, etc.). Provide administrative and logistical support for communications projects and events.
