The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Communications, this role offers the chance to support impactful member communications, strengthen Plannera's social media presence, and contribute to innovative campaigns that help members understand and engage with their pension and benefits. As a key player on the Marketing and Communications team, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating and scheduling content across multiple social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) for multiple plans, ensuring consistency with their individual brand voice.
Writing and editing a wide range of materials, including social media posts, newsletters, website content, presentations, and traditional communications such as letters and member notices.
Monitoring engagement, responding to member comments/messages in collaboration with consultants, and escalating issues when required.
Assisting communications consultants with the development of communication materials such as newsletters, presentations, and campaign content.
Supporting the collection, tracking, and reporting of analytics to measure campaign effectiveness.
Contributing ideas for creative campaigns, visuals, and interactive content that connect with diverse audiences.
Using design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) and content management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, HubSpot or similar) to deliver polished, professional materials.
Ideal Candidate
You will be:
Skilled in writing and editing with the ability to create clear, engaging, and member-friendly content across multiple formats.
Knowledgeable in both digital and traditional communications (e.g., social media, websites, email campaigns, printed materials, and formal member letters).
A creative thinker who can contribute to strategic communication planning, not just execution.
Comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and content scheduling platforms to produce professional and visually appealing communications.
A collaborative team player who can support consultants while also taking initiative on assigned tasks.
Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through a combination of: Bullet
A diploma or degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in a communications or marketing support role, ideally with a focus on content creation and digital communications.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to adapt tone and style to diverse audiences.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and content management/scheduling tools.
Knowledge of pensions, retirement planning, or financial topics is considered an asset.
