Hours: 35 hours weekly
Location: 2101 Holdom Avenue, Burnaby. Partial remote work option may be available after probation. Wage: $21.49 to $23.47 based on education and experience
Benefits: Eligibility for group benefits after probation
Start Date: as soon as possible
Reports to: Executive Assistant Key Responsibilities:
  • Creates content and supports the maintenance of all BFL communication platforms including website, social media, and internal newsletters on an ongoing basis, including website copy development and publishing
  • Develop, support, and update internal procedure manuals, presentations and other internal organizational communication materials
  • Supports event plans, logistics and, works with multiple stakeholders such as venues and catering contractors, equipment rentals, and purchase of food for agency events throughout the year
  • Coordinate and assist in preparation of promotional material including flyers, social media posts, posters and newsletters
  • Photography management (including management of releases)
  • Supports the management of all general inquiries by providing detailed information about the services we offer, as well as providing referrals to other services in Burnaby as needed
  • Assist with other projects and administrative duties as needed
Ideal Candidate:
  • Diploma or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations
  • Detail oriented and results driven
  • Reliable and dedicated, with sound judgement, and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Proactive and able to meet firm deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Passionate about the local communities
  • Experience with website design and development
  • Experience with graphic design
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in the use of Canva an asset
  • Experience with SquareSpace would be an asset
Additional Requirements
  • No relevant criminal record to work with vulnerable populations, BFL will request to run a criminal record check upon offer of employment
  • May be required to participate in work-related activities outside regular hours of operation
