Communications and Marketing Officer Location: Vancouver, BC Reporting to: Associate Director, Communications & Marketing Job status: Full-time permanent 1.0 FTE (75 hours bi-weekly)
Canuck Place Children\xe2\x80\x99s Hospice (CPCH) is British Columbia\xe2\x80\x99s recognized pediatric palliative care provider. SUMMARY As an active member of our Communications, Marketing & Events team and under the direction of the Associate Director, Communications & Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications and marketing strategies that support Canuck Place Children\xe2\x80\x99s Hospice (CPCH) strategic priorities, raise brand awareness, and meet our organization goals for diversity and inclusion, drive fundraising, and engage CPCH supporters by facilitating a connection to the work and programs at CPCH. You will lead the Google ad strategy and execution, monitor and report on marketing and communication KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, and track campaign and activity performance metrics. You will coordinate fundraising campaigns and events and support the annual content plan, creating content across all communication channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proven experience in project management - excellent at managing multiple projects and meeting tight timelines.
  • Brings marketing campaigns to life with kick start meetings/action items and debriefs and executing on time, on budget and on strategy. Works cross-functionally with internal fundraising and support teams
  • Understands the power of storytelling in donor awareness, engagement, and stewardship. Supports the comprehensive annual content plan with creative writing across digital platforms and print media
  • Works with Canuck Place families to write and share their story to support the development of content for fundraising and awareness campaigns and events. Ensure the content developed with families is up-to-date and accessible to staff through the internal digital story bank
  • Leads the strategy and execution for Google Grant account
  • Ensures a high level of performance in all campaigns. Monitors and analyzes all marketing and communication KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and keeps campaign budgets on pace in accordance with the approved paid media plan.
  • Supports CPCH social media content strategy and execution to advance audience growth and engagement
  • Supports the organizations goals for diversity, inclusion, equality, and belonging in visual and written communications. Leads the development and execution of translated materials for digital platforms and print media
  • Supports the project to implement a photo and video management platform

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience working in a communications or marketing role.

QUALIFICATIONS What you bring to the role:
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team player and establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships, both internally and externally
  • Results focused with ability to both develop strategic plans and execute actionable tasks
  • Well versed in all social media platforms
  • Current experience in delivering effective online advertising, including Google Adwords
  • Experience in managing and developing effective and compelling content (written, photo and video).
  • Highly detail oriented with stellar writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with WordPress CMS and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with Mailchimp, Trello, Slack, Dropbox are an asset
  • Experience with SEO, Social Media Insights, and Google Analytics
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and consistently deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, including a high degree of integrity, passion, empathy and compassion
  • Clear and valid BC driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and access to a vehicle are required
  • Experience in a non-profit environment is preferred

Note: Flexibility is necessary, as this position may require occasional weekend and evening work and travel within and outside the Lower Mainland.
