Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is looking for a
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, COMMUNICATIONS & EVENT COORDINATOR
who can help a grassroots organization grow through strategically communicating our program impact, planning/implementing strategies to cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and enhancing our organizational voice to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
The ideal candidate for this role would be an adaptable and proactive professional with a track record of direct experience in strategic marketing, network cultivation and fundraising event execution/promotion. We are looking for someone who can help out with programming wherever possible so that the stories you share will reflect the up-to-date stories of our girls.

General Duties:
Under supervision of the Executive Director,
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, COMMUNICATIONS & EVENT COORDINATOR
is responsible for increasing community awareness, strategic communications across various platforms, fundraising implementation and providing quality customer services to media partners and stakeholders. You will:
Develop, implement and update year-long community engagement/communications plan that coordinates fundraising activities, online/offline campaigns, social media, website and event communications
Develop and maintain the Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta brand and events by updating the website, ensuring a social media presence, regular newsletters and updating content regularly and strategically.
Administer appeals (mail, email, social media etc.) regularly throughout the year, in close collaboration with the Executive Director
Lead the coordination and execution for all special events, including concept development, logistical coordination, partner cultivation, pre-/post- event promotion, volunteer management, budget monitoring and event activity execution
Update and maintain fund development database and mailing list, including data entry and reporting, ensuring accuracy of data.
Assist programing staff in planning and implementation of programming as needed to help facilitate girls' personal development process through educational-recreational experiences.
Prepare and distribute press releases on key events, and annual reports in close coordination with respective partners
Ensure general safety and confidentiality of the program participants and stakeholders.
Prepare analysis of fundraising events/campaign results and donor giving patterns to help determine effective fundraising plans
Actively identify opportunities for fundraising, program delivery, partnership cultivation and advocacy. Act on opportunities by involving appropriate personnel. Attend and coordinate partner meetings.
Convey messages around Girls' Inc. philosophy and positive community development
Undertake other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Direct experience in writing in a professional capacity, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, stewardship, relationship building, media network cultivation and fundraising event planning/coordination/execution/promotion.
Exceptional writing skills in various formats, including website, social media, news releases, speeches, stories and appeals.
Impeccable proofreading and editing skills.
Excellent understanding of digital marketing and web analytics. Knowledge of coding would be an asset.
Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with internal clients and various internal and external stakeholders.
Well-established network amongst media partners and gender equality advocates would be an asset.
Demonstrated understanding of and experience in gender equality, gender-sensitive programming and systemic (in)justice.
Experience with donor/client management and graphic design software would be an exceptional asset.
Transferable experience in group facilitation experience with youth and adults would be an asset.
Well-developed cultural sensitivity with high integrity and professionalism.
Self-starter with team-oriented approach to meeting goals and objectives.
Well-versed in using Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Zoom, Social Media (Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram etc.) and Wordpress.
Background clearance from the RCMP.
Relevant post-secondary education preferred.
Relevant experience or qualification will be considered.
Class 5 Driver's License.
Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
