Communications & Development Specialist
, you'll play a critical role in advancing our mission by crafting compelling content for internal and external audiences, ensuring our story, values, and impact are clearly communicated to stakeholders and potential funders.

What You'll Do
You'll be the voice of Bellwoods, leading communications and development initiatives that support our mission.
Strategic Communications
: Work with the CEO to create and manage annual communications & marketing plans; track success and budget.
Grant Writing & Fundraising
: Research and write high-quality grant proposals and reports, recruit new partners, track submissions, and support fundraising programs.
: Tailor messaging to different audiences, including staff, clients, donors, grant-makers, community partners, and the general public. Maintain donor relationships by providing them with updates and information on the organization's progress and impact.
Fundraising Support
: Research new funding opportunities, analyze donor data, and help grow monthly giving.
Collaboration
: Partner with internal teams, share creative ideas, and contribute across departments.

What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in grant writing, nonprofit communications, or development.
Exceptional written and verbal communication (strategic storytelling)
Project management skills; able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with nonprofit funding landscape, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with content management systems/donor databases is a plus.
Experience creating social media content
Legally entitled to work in Canada; proof of 2-dose COVID-19 vaccination required
