The SMA (www.sma.sk.ca) is a voluntary, member-based, professional association for physicians, medical students and residents in the province and it is the provincial chapter of the Canadian Medical Association. As the trusted voice of Saskatchewans 2,600 practicing physicians, the SMA negotiates for and on behalf of our doctors; supports the educational, professional, economic and personal well-being of physicians; and advocates for a high-quality and patient-centred, health-care system.We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, permanent Communications Advisor to join our growing team!Reporting to the Director, Communications and Community Engagements, the Communications Advisor applies expertise and specialized knowledge to help the SMA effectively engage with its target audiences and be a strong and professional voice for Saskatchewans physicians. The Communications Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing various communications strategies and plans using a variety of communications tools, including print and digital media. By identifying the organizations short- and long-term communication and marketing needs, the Communications Advisor supports the SMA, its strategic goals, and its program initiatives. The Communications Advisor also writes and manages digital communications including website(s) and social media messages and content. The Communications Advisor is committed to continuous learning to stay current with subject knowledge and best practices.This position is based on-site at our office in Saskatoon, SK, with a voluntary hybrid work option allowing remote work from home up to 4 out of 5 days per week subject to approval under our Hybrid Work Arrangement policy.Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g., communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing) or equivalent combination of experience and education, is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in communications is required.
  • A valid drivers license is required.
  • Experience in a health-care organization would be an asset.
Salary$64,494- $87,256 per annum commensurate with experience.Perks & Benefits
