Your opportunity:

The Marketing & Communications team at the University of Toronto Scarborough is looking for a dynamic, innovative communicator to join us. Our team is a highly collaborative group of Marketing Communications professionals, driven to find new and creative ways to reach our audiences. We are looking for an accomplished Integrated Marketing Communications Advisor with experience in digital storytelling, traditional, digital and content marketing, PR and event planning. This role requires an innovative, creative thinker who is able to translate big ideas into actionable plans. You should have an impressive track record of creating high impact, multi-platform marketing and social programs for large, complex organizations. You will be responsible for providing strategic marketing communications advice to a range of internal partners so experience in account management is an asset. Comfort managing multiple projects concurrently is essential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategy
  • Developing and implementing content marketing plans that support strategic objectives
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives
  • Advising on best practices and strategies to maximize digital communication initiatives
  • Conceptualizing special events and/or functions
  • Developing a media relations plan that supports marketing/communications strategy
  • Developing and implementing targeted outreach initiatives that support communication strategies
  • Developing and implementing community engagement strategies and plans

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum five years of experience delivering integrated marketing communications, and social strategies
  • Proven track record of creating high impact marketing and social campaigns for large organizations
  • Previous experience providing marketing and communications advice in an account management structure
  • Proven experience creating content and messaging for digital and social platforms
  • Experience creating and editing digital video content
  • Extensive experience in creating experiential marketing campaigns
  • Established track record of creating and executing high impact, strategic events and activations both on-line and in-person

  • Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple, competing projects concurrently
